Daisy & Rocky	I felt I had to write you to tell you the miracle that your food was to my 3 1/2 yr old Australian Terrier. She had been so ill, in and out of hospitals for 1 and 1/2 yrs of her life! Biscuit	About a month ago, in an effort to improve our dog's diet, I switched our 4-year-old German Shepherd, Biscuit (a certified tracking dog), to Wellness CORE Original Formula kibble. The first thing my husband and I noticed was that Biscuit actually appeared to enjoy her food! Honestly, when she's cleared the bowl of every piece, she walks over to the bag and starts licking the side of it. This is unbelievable; she has always been a reluctant eater and, like many German Shepherds, she has had trouble with many foods disagreeing with her. No such problems with CORE. I took Biscuit to the vet last week for her annual check-up. Not only did the vet say that he thinks CORE is great (he feeds his own dog something similar, and thinks that it is actually better and safer than the raw-foods diet I was considering), he also noticed that her coat was looking glossier than ever and her weight was up a bit, to a really healthy weight for her (88 lean pounds). Butters & Luna	About three months ago, my male, Butters, started having some skin problems. He's always had a sensitive digestive system, but never really coat issues. He started really itching...to the point he was chewing huge bald spots on his hind quarters. Took him to the vet and his best guess was some kind of contact dermatitis and sent us home with antihistamine shampoo. After about two weeks of watching my dog create bald spots and bleeding sores, I put him on Super5Mix Whitefish & Sweet Potato Recipe and strictly Wellness treats because I wanted to eliminate chicken and other allergens that may have been in the other treats. Effie	Being a small, frightened, homeless stray on the streets of Pasadena -fighting, begging and scavenging for whatever passes for food - is not the path to Wellness. Ausley	Since Ausley Jane has been eating Super5Mix Whitefish & Sweet Potato Recipe dog food, her coat is gorgeous! She looks great and feels great. Cash	Cash is a show dog and a very picky eater. Have you ever heard of a dog that doesn't like cheese! It is very important for him to be in great condition and that is hard to do with a picky eater. Peanut	The Mercedes of dog food, said the nice lady at the counter, when I asked about Wellness. Only the best for Peanut! She had had a difficult first year - saved from the shelter by a wonderful rescue group. We first met when a volunteer placed her shaking into my arms. On the floor, she was not much better, spinning frantically in circles (always clockwise it turns out). It took a week to realize that she had a gorgeous, curly tail and a big dog bark. Phoebe	This gentle natured creature, left in a filth strewn yard to protect a vacant drug house was picked up by the local animal control. I went there, posing as her owner, and "sprung" her from jail! She was 70#, and overweight, with a dull dry coat. I promised her a different life, one full of walks, fancy collars, soft beds (indoors only!) and only the finest food, and lots of love! Rocco	As a pet owner, we've always tried to feed our dog the best possible foods. Top notch quality food with no table scraps was what we were told by vets(though we've bent that a bit at times). Over the last year, we've tried a variety of the premium brands, and to our dismay, many were on the recall list. One of the premium brands that hasn't been affected i is Wellness formula by Old Mother Hubbard. We came across this brand at our local pet store and gave it a try. The company makes a variety of wet and dry foods as well as treats. The foods are said to be all natural, and they do not contain any by-products or wheat gluten. They also claim their treats are home made and again, with all natural, healthy ingredients. Our dog has been eating these brands on and off for about a year, and exclusively for the last three months. His coat is shiny, he's full energy (a bit too much energy sometimes :-)) and has gotten a clean bill of health from the vet. Even more then this, he eats it all up. My pup can be finicky sometimes, especially with the wet food, but he loves Wellness formula. Nash	I had to make a decision what to feed my puppy amidst the scare. Wellness says it all. Nash is now eight months old. He is healthy in every sense of the word. Bailey	Bailey is the family pet that adds so much warmth to all of our lives. On a recent trip to her veterinarian we got the bad news that she has congestive heart failure, a condition not uncommon to poodle breeds. She has to take an array of medications daily to give her the quality of life she deserves, in addition to the meds we were advised to change her diet to one that is lower in fat and one with low sodium. A prescription diet was recommended and tried, Bailey's system didn't do well to the transition plus she wasn't satisfied with the taste. I went to our pet supply retailer and talked to the manager asking for her recommendation for a quality food product that would fill the diet requirements Bailey needed, she thought the Wellness dietary products may be a good match. After reading the ingredient labels we chose the dry Healthy Weight, the canned Senior foods and the WellBites Beef & Turkey treats. I called the customer service department to confirm that the salt levels in these products were at the levels needed by her diet requirements. I was happy to hear that these three food products were actually lower in total sodium than the prescription diet. Hallie	Hallie is the sweetest Saint Bernard I have ever met. We adopted her from a shelter when she was 6 weeks old, and she's been stealing hearts every day since! Killian	Killian has had skin allergies and reoccurring ear infections from the time that we brought him home from the Human Society. We tried countless brands of food and skin/coat supplements, but nothing seemed to work. Finally, after talking to a friend who owns a dog rescue, we decided to try Wellness Super5Mix Chicken. Wow! What a difference. Immediately we noticed a decrease in Killian's need to scratch and we haven't been to the vet for an ear infection in over four months (knock on wood). Osa	Osa was adopted from an animal shelter about a year and a half ago. She is the best dog in the world! She is so smart and can recognize so many words. Sophie and Owyn	I've used Wellness since Sophie was a puppy. I wanted a good quality food that I could feel good about giving her that she would enjoy. We started out with Lamb Super5Mix which worked great for years. Then Owyn came to the family. He kept his tender stomach past puppyhood, so when he was ready for adult food, we switched to Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato. He's doing great on it and Sophie loves it too! Bijan	Bijan at about 12 started sleeping all day long, was dragging on his usual walks and certainly when we came home, having to climb up 15 steps. At 13, I noticed his hearing was going and he did not react to noises and sounds. After starting him on Wellness Just for Senior Super5Mix, Bijan is a different dog. Winston	Winny suffered a horrible bout of pancreatitis a few months ago when he got into some French fries at the slow pitch ball park. Aspen	Aspen is a very picky eater who would not eat many types of food until we brought in Wellness. Now she has become our food guard who loves the food, but at times doesn't want to share it with the rest of the family. Aspen has a lot of fur that is very hard to maintain even when brushed on a daily basis. Mr. Smee	My little Cairn, Mr. Smee, has suffered for two and a half years with a skin disorder. He went to six different veterinarians and not one suggested Celiac Disease. Then one of my customers told me she had recently been diagnosed with CD and I realized that dogs might get the same thing. At that time Mr. Smee had already started showing improvement having been on the Simple Solutions (Venison and brown rice) for approximately three weeks. Once I eliminated all gluten he continued to improve steadily. His coat has improved tremendously, and he now has a full coat of fur on his hind quarters. Annie	Annie was rescued off of Death Row in August 2005. She was picked up as a stray and our vet thinks she was about 1 yr old and on her own for 4-5 months. Needless to say, she came with a lot of medical baggage which she overcame except for airborne and food allergies. We tried several dog foods for allergies and Annie is most enthusiastic about the flavor of Wellness Simple Solutions Duck Formula. She has stopped itching and biting herself. Heart Heart and Littermates	My litter of miniature schnauzer puppies were born 6/25/05. Within the next 2 weeks it had become obvious that 1 male puppy was very sick. He would nurse his mother and almost immediately throw it up. I took him to the vet. He was given barium to drink and they took X rays. He was diagnosed with a condition called Megaesophagus. This means his esophagus was abnormally large and would not push the food into his stomach. Food just pooled in the esophagus, and then he would throw up. He got aspiration pneumonia from all the vomiting. He nearly died. But he hung on. Everyone at the vets loved him...he stole their hearts. I named him “Thief of Hearts" for AKC papers, and called him "Heart" Which he certainly has a lot of. Megaesophagus is considered to be a fatal condition. Many puppies with this are euthanized, others usually die within the first year. Attempts to control this disease require feeding mushy food to the puppy while he is sitting in the upright position-- holding him up in the position like a human would sit to eat. This way gravity helps to pull the food into the stomach. Prescription diet A D food is commonly used. After 3 months of feeding him A D , he was like a rack of bones. Every rib visible, his thin hair had fallen out on his face and ears. I began supplementing the A D food with liquid vitamins , cottage cheese and rice. At 4 months, his malnutrition was getting worse by the day. The vet said I must find a way to improve his nutrition or he would die. I went to the local pet store, and talked to a woman behind the counter. She recommended using the Wellness brand canned puppy food. I bought the food and immediately began feeding this to " Heart." In just a few days the change in "Heart" was beginning to show. He was gaining weight. After he had been on the Wellness food for about 2 months, the vet did another set of X rays on him, with barium and also plain X rays. His Megaesophagus condition was gone. This is unheard of in the veterinary world...nothing short of a miracle had happened. All of his X rays are now normal. And he is gaining weight steadily , eating only the Wellness brand puppy food. "Heart " is now leading a normal puppy life. And he is looking better every day. I feel that I must thank all the people at Old Mother Hubbard / Wellness for providing such an outstanding puppy food.... and thought you should know what this food has done for "Heart." Maddox	Maddox is a very energetic, full of life, a great addition to my life. Tumpka	Tumpka is the joy of my life. All he wants to do is please you and be a good learner during training sessions. Unfortunately, he has a very sensitive stomach. I was searching the internet one day about ways to get rid of the smell, then noticed that lots of basset owners cut out the corn in the diet...and whala...no more cornchip. After much research, I learned not to be fooled by cheaper "non-corn" brands. I love the idea that Lulu's Wellness food is human grade and that the cornchip smell has been reduced.
